Coconut Turmeric Smoothie

Warm enough for winter and tropical enough for spring this coconut turmeric smoothie makes a great breakfast or snack.

I’m a big fan of adding veggies to smoothies. Most people don’t consume enough and it’s a simple way to get them in. You may be surprised to see cauliflower listed below, but with such a mild taste is actually works really well in smoothies.

1 orange, peeled

1 cup cauliflower (fresh or frozen)

1 cup lite coconut milk (I used So Delicious Unsweetened Vanilla Coconut Milk)

2 scoops Further Food Daily Turmeric Tonic

1 Tbsp Manitoba Milling Co. Smooth Whole Milled Flaxseed

1 packet or scoop of Further Food Collagen Peptides

unsweetened coconut flakes to top (optional)


  1. Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until very smooth.

  2. Pour in a glass and top with unsweetened coconut flakes.

winter Carrot & Turmeric Soup

I haven’t been making nearly enough soups this winter, but with negative temps (-25!) for the past week, I felt inspired to make something warm and delicious.

Further Food sent me a jar of their Daily Turmeric Tonic to try and I have to say it is amazing.

You may have ordered a golden milk latte or steamer at your favorite coffee shop, but if you’ve tried to make one at home, you know that it’s pretty hard to get the flavor just right and to blend the spices in without them clumping.

The Further Food Daily Turmeric Tonic is the perfect blend of naturally sweet and anti-inflammatory spices and makes the perfect golden milk (seriously, the best and so easy). Below I used it to make a hearty and delicious winter carrot and turmeric soup. It would also be good in curry or smoothies or in place of turmeric in any recipe. 1 Tbsp coconut oil

1/2 of a large yellow onion (or 1 small onion)

1 Tbsp minced garlic (from a jar)

2 1/4 tsp Further Food Daily Turmeric Tonic

3.5 cups carrots, diced

3 cups low sodium vegetable broth

salt and pepper to taste


  1. Heat coconut oil in a medium sized soup pot over medium-high heat. When hot, add onion, cook until translucent.

  2. Add garlic and turmeric blend. Mix.

  3. Add carrots and broth and heat until carrots become tender.

  4. Blend the soup mixture with an immersion/stick blender or transfer to a standing blender (I used my Vitamix).

  5. Blend until smooth and serve hot!

Anti-Inflammatory Golden Milk Smoothie

1/2 cup 1% milk
1/2 cup nonfat, plain Greek yogurt
1 banana
1 cup frozen cauliflower
1/2 tsp turmeric
Dash of black pepper
Dash of cinnamon
1 Tbsp whole-milled flaxseed (I like Manitoba Milling Co.)
1 scoop collagen peptides (I like Further Food - save 5% off with this link! -if you use another brand or a protein powder instead, this is equivalent to 8 grams or a rounded tablespoon)


1. Combine all ingredients in a blender (I love my Vitamix!) and blend until smooth.

2. Serve in a glass or bowl or store it in a mason jar for later. Enjoy!


Note: If you prefer your smoothies ice cold, you could use a frozen banana instead.
